Call for Application - Dissemination Specialist

The Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a Jakarta-based think tank that aims to improve policymaking through policy-oriented research, dialogue, and public debate.

The Knowledge Management Unit CSIS is currently looking for a Dissemination Specialist for the period of September 2022 to February 2023

The role holds the core responsibilities as follows:

• Executing the design, a spectrum of visual projects, including print/digital publications, graphics, data visualisations, brochures, logos, email banners, event materials, newsletters, and other CSIS dissemination materials
• Research and compile assets for design, multimedia, and digital projects, including photo research
• Managing CSIS social media content and schedule, including engagement with followers and drafting press-releases
• Working closely with the KM team and research departments to develop new content and dissemination strategies that suit stated goals and needs and align with CSIS’ research outputs; communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders is critical
• Assisting the Knowledge Manager as the script doctor to keep policy messaging sophisticated and intact while making contents within scope and digest-able for diverse audiences
• Other duties and projects as needed

Qualifications for the role are as follows:

• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite and specifically solid experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Familiarity with collaborative social media management tools (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Linktree, Tweetdeck, Microsoft 365)
• Experience in managing social media contents
• Strong English and Indonesian proficiencies (written and verbal)
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and other web tools/languages is a plus
• Familiarity with DSLRs, ENG Cameras & Basic 3 point lighting is a plus
• Relevant background in social and political sciences

Preferences:

• Minimum one year of relevant experience (university experiences count)
• Strong creative thinking and sense of art
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills; including effectively presenting information to non-technical partners, operating in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through skills
• Strong interest in global affairs and public policy
• Sound judgement, maturity, and discretion

Terms of Recruitment

Dissemination Specialist is a six-months contract-based position, extendable for a maximum of 24 (twenty-four) months of the consecutive term. The selected candidate is entitled to a competitive monthly salary, an office at Pakarti Centre, lunch (during WFO), BPJS, a holiday allowance (THR, prorated), work equipment and stationary, access card, and organisation email address.
