JAKARTA, February 16, 2024 – Cyrus Network and CSIS Indonesia conducted a Quick Count with a sample of 2.000 Polling Stations (TPS), distributed proportionally across 38 provinces in Indonesia, on February 14, 2024.
Quick Count is the process of collecting the recapitulation results of the vote count at each sampled TPS that have been approved and signed by the KPPS (Kelompok Penyelenggara Pemungutan Suara) officers and witnesses. In this Quick Count, the selection of TPS samples was done using the Multi-Stage Random Sampling method, taking into account the number of voters in each province and the rural and urban characteristics. Using a sample of 2,000 TPS, the Margin of Error (MoE) for this Quick Count is +/- 1 percent, with a 95 percent confidence interval.
In the 2019 Presidential Election, the difference between the Quick Count results of CSIS Indonesia and Cyrus Network and the official results of the KPU (General Election Commission) was only 0,12 percent. This difference is the closest to the official results of the KPU.
