The practice of political advertising on social media has significantly increased in recent years. This strategy has been perceived as an efficient substitute for conventional advertising and is substantially more valuable and structured for future plans of action. In this commentary, Edbert Gani Suryahudaya examined the recent practices of how Facebok, the global social media platform, has been utilized in Indonesia's recent electoral politics and what it entails, as well as the future of social media's role in Indonesia's political landscape.
