Evi Fitriani is Professor of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia. She was Head of the Department from 2012 to 2016. She is the co-founder of the ASEAN Study Center, Universitas Indonesia. She also holds a position of the Indonesia's Country Coordinator of the Network of East Asian Think Tanks (NEAT), the track two of the ASEAN Plus Three (APT). She helped established the master program on European Studies at the University in 2003 and has been one of the peer-group in the program. She has received more than 18 international grants and scholarships.

Evi Fitriani was born in Bangka, Indonesia, on 20 December 1968. Her professional education includes Bachelor of Arts in International Relation Studies from the International Relations Department, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia in 1992. She then received Master of Arts in Modern International Studies from the Institute of International Studies, Leeds University, the UK in 1994 under the British Chevening Award. She also obtained Master of Arts in Southeast Asia Studies Program from the Center for International Studies Ohio University the U.S. in 1995 with the Fulbright Scholarship. She accomplished a PhD Program in Political Sciences and International Relations in the Crawford School of Economics and Government, the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia, in 2011, supported by Australian Development Scholarship (ADS). Dr. Fitriani also undertook training programs at the Upsala University (Sweden) and the Central European University Budapest, Hungary. In addition, she carried out research in Japan, China, the Netherlands, Belgium, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and Finland and have involved in several international collaborative research teams. She became a visiting fellow at the University of Tokyo, Japan (1998), the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2001), and the University of Melbourne (2016), as well as a visiting professor at the Meiji University, Tokyo, (2018 and 2019).

Dr. Fitriani's research interests include Indonesia's foreign policy, ASEAN, Asian regionalism, Indonesia relations with Australia, Indonesia-Malaysia relations, precolonial Southeast Asia, border studies, European Union (EU) and EU-Asia relations. She has also become speakers for those issues in various regional and international conferences and workshops. She has published journal articles, books, working papers, and newspaper opinions on those issues. Her last publication is Fitriani 'Linking the Impacts of Perception, Domestic Politics, Economic Engagements, and the International Environment on Bilateral Relations Between Indonesia and China in the Onset of the 21st Century' (Journal of Contemporary East Asia Studies, 2021).

Previously, Prof. Fitriani served as the Head of International Office of Universitas Indonesia, Secretary of the University's Senate, member of the Faculty's Senate, and member of the University's Task Force on Autonomy.
