Since the military in Myanmar launched a coup against the democratically elected government in February 2021, a political crisis in Myanmar has exacerbated into a humanitarian crisis that poses a great challenge to regional peace and stability. In the effort to address the issue, CSIS with the support of RSIS, held an online policy workshop titled “Humanitarian Assistance Options for Myanmar” on 30 September 2021, inviting various stakeholders from different backgrounds. The speakers presented their ideas and elaborated the result of the discussion into nine short policy memos compiled in this publication. This project is part of CSIS Myanmar Initiatives Program. The program seeks to initiate policy research, discussions and collaborative engagements to generate options for regional governments and organisations along with civil society groups and the international community to effectively address the post-coup humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
