Beltsazar is a researcher at the Department of Politics and Social Change at CSIS Indonesia. Currently, he is on a study leave to pursue his PhD at the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Public Policy (STEaPP), University College London (UCL). His work includes collaborations with Google, Meta, and Luminate, as well as EU-funded research at Universität Hamburg and, most recently, through the Safer Internet Lab (SAIL) ahead of Indonesia's 2024 elections.
His PhD research examines the intersection of internet infrastructure, digital platforms, and mis/disinformation, particularly on its duality of agency and governance. He holds an MSc from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, focusing on cybersecurity and digital politics, with his MSc dissertation on regional cybersecurity governance in Southeast Asia earned a first-class honours.
He is a member of the International Panel on Information Environment (IPIE), Managing Global Governance (MGG), Global Network of Internet & Society Centers (NoC), and the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR)
